Affiliate Disclosure

FixMyTablet.net is an independent publication. Like most content sites that publish free guides, we rely on a combination of advertising and affiliate commissions to fund our work. This page explains exactly how that works and what it means for you as a reader.

What “affiliate” means

When we link to a product on Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, or another retailer, that link often contains a tracking code that identifies FixMyTablet.net as the source. If you click the link and make a purchase from that retailer, we receive a small commission on the sale. You pay exactly the same price either way — the commission comes from the retailer’s marketing budget, not from an additional charge to you.

Our affiliate relationships

FixMyTablet.net is a participant in these affiliate programs:

  • Amazon Services LLC Associates Program — the primary affiliate program for U.S. tablet purchases. Our Amazon Associate tag identifies us to Amazon when you click through to amazon.com.
  • Other retailer programs — from time to time we link to Walmart, Best Buy, B&H, and similar retailers when they offer a product we recommend. We disclose this with clear language near the link.

The required legal statement

As required by the Federal Trade Commission in the United States and similar regulators internationally: FixMyTablet.net is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.

Our editorial independence

Affiliate revenue pays the bills, but it does not determine what we write or how we rank products. Specifically:

  • We are not paid by manufacturers. We do not accept money from tablet manufacturers (Amazon, Lenovo, Walmart, or anyone else) to write favorable reviews or prioritize their products.
  • We do not accept sponsored posts. Every article on FixMyTablet.net is written by our editorial team based on what we believe will be useful to our readers.
  • We write honest reviews. If a product is bad, we say so, even when it would be more profitable to be positive. If a cheaper or free alternative is better for your specific use case, we tell you.
  • Our rankings are not based on commission rates. Some products we recommend earn us more commission than others; this has no influence on which ones we recommend.

If we ever receive a free product for testing, we disclose that fact clearly in the relevant article.

Display advertising

Some pages on FixMyTablet.net display ads served by third-party advertising networks including Google AdSense. These ads are managed by the advertising networks, and we do not control which specific ads appear. Ad revenue, like affiliate revenue, does not influence our editorial content.

Cookies and tracking

When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer may set a cookie that tracks whether you make a purchase within a certain window (typically 24 hours for Amazon, up to 30 days for some retailers). This cookie is set by the retailer, not by us, and is governed by the retailer’s privacy policy.

For more information on how we use cookies on this site directly, see our Privacy Policy.

Questions

If you have questions about our affiliate practices or spot a link that isn’t clearly disclosed, please email contact@fixmytablet.net and we’ll address it.
